60There's a war inside your head,
that only you can figure out.
Who's side are you on,
when your mind is full of doubt?
Do the angels entice you?
Or the demons betray?
Is it love that you fight for,
or for freedom, you say?
Are we the people,
the country, this land...
are we worth the bloodshed, the tears,
and every fallen man?
There's always a price,
and we pay it ten fold,
the rich and the poor,
the young and the old.
But there's no greater price,
than that of the soul.
Its worth more than diamonds,
silver or gold.
A life lost
is the fee to live,
when honor and virtue
are so hard to give.
The battle is fierce,
and our enemies strong,
but only you hold the power,
the will to move on...
There's no one else to blame
for our failures and mistakes.
We make our own decisions.
Its our lives at stake...
So take it into your own hands,
Don't sit idly by,
while the world passes,
and you silently die.
The war can be won,
but you must choose to fight,
to stand up for yourself,
and your God given rights.
The war can be done.
The war can be diffused,
just put up your weapons,
and let your words be the Muse.
Its all in your head that we cant get along.
Ignorance. Racism. Religion. Fear.
Lack of communication and understanding
is what led us here...
The war is inside your head.
Will you let it take control?
It just might cost you your life.
Are you ready to pay the toll?

If only we could all just erase the war in our heads and be better people and respect one another. But people let fear and emotion get the best of them. Hate. and this is a big reason why i dislike people in general. They can be so cruel and uncaring sometimes. We all bleed and we all die. life is too short to live that way. World peace can only be achieved if people recognized this and changed their way of thinking. United we stand, divided we fall. People have forgotten that.

yes ma'am. We choose to love and accept others, help those in need. or to hate and abuse others and turn a blind eye. I know I havent really "helped" anyone and i dont necessarily love and accept everyone, but thats more due to the fact that i dislike people in general for their ignorance and stupidity. but doesnt that make me ignorant? I want change but i dont really do anything to make change. All I can do is write and hope a point gets across.
You've captured the power of one's mind. We are each given a journey and sometimes our mind can surely create crazy detours. Doubts, fears, passion and arrogance are bound to cause havoc. You speak of the battles, but sometimes we need to know how to choose them and when to walk away. Not always an easy decision. There definitely are cruel people out there and with some it is easy to see they have their hands over their eyes and ears as they refuse to acknowledge or reflect on their actions and much less - on your perspective. That is when I walk away and then my own battle continues because I then torment myself about whether I should have pushed just a bit harder.

Thank you so much missolive...Yes part of the battle is knowing when to walk away... but sometimes you need to just face them head on. Sometimes you need to just be the bigger person and let it go. knowing that nothing you do will make this person change their mind. some people are just set in their ways and refuse to budge. we can keep trying and pushing all we like but its like trying to push a 12 ton boulder up a steep hill. that aint going no where with just yourself pushing. sometimes we need help. we cant do everything on our own. and sometimes we have to. Life is one big battle that we fight everyday with all the obstacles and opportunities it throws at us. You never know if youre making the right decisions until its too late. sometimes our pasts get in the way of our future, but we need to stop looking at all the what ifs and what could have beens and look at whats to come, and what is. We can only do our bests and live our lives as best we can. Change ourselves first before we can even try to change the world, the war. Everything you need is inside your head. and your heart.
